At the recent NSWJRU AGM we saw Andrew Hutton step down from the role of President of NSW Juniors after four years at the helm. Andrew lead one of the strongest periods of growth that NSW Juniors has seen in our 69 year history, with record team numbers across all three State Championships (XV, 7s & Tri Tag) as well as a strong and vibrant Rep pathways program, which included the creation of the NSW Girls XVs pathway. We thank Andrew for his work and impact across junior rugby in our state.
An election for a new President took place and Chuck Ardron was then elected to the role.
Chuck has been a long time servant of the game, holding various roles across both schools and club rugby for the past two decades. He is well regarded amongst his peers as a capable and inclusive leader and brings to the role a track record of proven success. He has previously held multiple roles across the NSW Schools committee, Australian Schools Rugby Union, multiple schools and club coaching and committee roles. Most notably, he already has experience at a NSW Juniors level having been the Juniors Affiliate Director to the NSW Rugby & Waratahs Board back in 2016-17 – so he understand the landscape of the role and the how best to represent the three junior affiliates at that level. We welcome Chuck to the role and look forward to working with him to continue the growth of our great game across all three junior affiliate bodies.
Gary Paton was also re-elected as the VP State Champs unopposed. Continuing the good work that Gary has done for circa 14 years now. Gary has been a Life Member of NSW Juniors since 2022.
Piper Duck was also re-nominated as the NSW Juniors Patron for 2026 - a fantastic role model, we are thrilled to have Piper involved with NSW Juniors again in 2026.
